Welcome to Angela's Antique Upholstery

Angela followed a traditional apprenticeship learning skills passed down over hundreds of years. She has a natural ability and flare for both the traditional and the modern. After a three year course at Hereford College of Art, Design and Technology Angela qualified with distinction, the prize of Top Student of Upholstery and the prize for the student who gained most from her time at Hereford College.

In 2003 Angela was awarded Craftsperson of the Year by the Association of Master Upholsterers, a National award. The focus of the award was quality of workmanship, quality of finish, design and construction. In 2003 completed works featured on the AMUSF “Excellence in Design and Manufacturing” stand at one of the leading shows “Design Interiors.” The show takes place alongside “The Furniture Show.” Work has also been featured at the “BBC Good Homes Show.”

Angela was given a frame; she then went on to design and construct the chair on the left using all the skills of a traditional upholsterer using traditional materials.
